Meet Homer

Quality-control supervisor, keyboard occupier, and the most demanding critic on the Gadgets Feed team.

The Cat Behind the Curtain

Every website has a team. Ours just happens to include a cat. Homer has been a fixture of the Gadgets Feed writing process since the very beginning — usually by sitting directly in the middle of it.

He does not write articles. He does not test products. He has, however, appointed himself supervisor of everyone who does.

His Official Role

Homer holds the prestigious (self-awarded) title of Head of Quality Control. His responsibilities are vast, vaguely defined, and carried out entirely on his own schedule. While Mo handles the laptops, smartphones, and buying guides, and Rikta covers smart home gear and editing, Homer focuses on the things that truly matter — like whether the keyboard is warm enough to sit on.

“Homer doesn’t contribute to the writing. He does, however, sit directly in front of the screen at the most inconvenient moments, which we interpret as editorial feedback.”

A Typical Day at the Office

  • Inspects every laptop the moment it opens, prioritising the warmest one.
  • Conducts surprise quality checks by walking across the keyboard mid-sentence.
  • Supervises all product unboxings, with a strong personal interest in the boxes.
  • Provides ambient moral support during long writing sessions (from a nearby nap).
  • Reminds the team when it’s time to stop working and feed the supervisor.

Why He Matters

Behind the jokes, Homer represents something real about Gadgets Feed: we’re not a faceless content factory. We’re real people (and one cat) working from real desks — sometimes a treehouse in the Sundarbans, sometimes home with a cat asleep on the laptop. That’s the spirit every article is written in. Honest, human, and occasionally interrupted by a paw.

Want to meet the humans too?

Mo & Rikta do the actual writing — when Homer lets them.
