One reality check on the capacity number: 512GB is the marketed size, and the drive holds 512 billion bytes. Windows divides storage in binary units while drive makers use decimal units, so after formatting and reserved space a fresh 512GB PCIe SSD typically shows about 476GB of usable space.
How Fast Is A 512GB PCIe SSD?

Samsung’s earlier 950 PRO 512GB (MZ-V5P512BW) uses the same PCIe 3.0 x4 connection with NVMe 1.1 but tops out at 2,500 MB/s read and 1,500 MB/s write. Same capacity, same interface generation, noticeably different speed — which is why the model matters as much as the 512GB label.
