In Breath of the Wild, you need to complete Bozai’s side quest chain near Gerudo Town. The boots are a quest reward—you cannot buy them anywhere.
First, you must enter Gerudo Town, which requires the Gerudo outfit. Buy this set for 600 rupees from the shop at Kara Kara Bazaar, just outside the town. Equip the full outfit before approaching Bozai, or he will not talk to you.
Bozai jogs around the perimeter of Gerudo Town—circling the outer walls. Speak to him while wearing the Gerudo outfit, and he starts the quest called The Eighth Heroine. The objective is to take a photo of the Eighth Heroine statue in the Gerudo Highlands.
This statue sits in a cold, snowy area, so bring cold-resistant gear (or elixirs) before heading up there. Snap the photo, return to Bozai, and he gives you the Snow Boots.
Crucial follow-up: You must also complete The Forgotten Sword quest—Bozai’s second request—to keep the boots permanently. If you skip it, he takes them back later.
How to Get Snow Boots in Tears of the Kingdom
In Tears of the Kingdom, the Snow Boots are a straightforward shop purchase. No quest required. The catch is finding the secret shop.
The Gerudo Secret Club is hidden in Gerudo Town. To access it, head to the left side of the town’s main entrance near Fashion Passion. Look for a waterfall and a hole in the ground—drop down into the waterway below.
Follow the tunnel, breaking any cracked rocks in your path. You will eventually reach a stone ceiling. Use Ascend to rise up into the shop interior. Speak to Greta, the shop owner, and the Snow Boots become available for purchase.
After buying them, you own them permanently—no follow-up quest needed.
Common Mistakes Players Make
In Breath of the Wild: The biggest error is speaking to Bozai without the Gerudo outfit equipped—he simply ignores you. Another is forgetting the photo before returning to him, which forces a trip back to the statue. And if you never do The Forgotten Sword quest, the boots vanish.
